Volunteer
Volunteering is a win-win! People who willingly give their time are the heart and soul of our organization. Just as importantly, volunteers gain an enriching experience learning about our culture and history while meeting interesting people.
Whether you are a history buff or want to contribute your skills towards a great cause, whether you can spare a few hours or an entire day, contact us to learn more.
Meet one of our volunteers, Karen Ratcliffe, a Bluewater resident and former co-owner of the Village Bookshop
As a volunteer at the Bayfield Historical Society this year, I was astonished to learn how many visitors wanted to know how our town came to be. They were quite interested in what we had to show them and always wanted to see more. One day, I had the pleasure of welcoming visitors from five continents: Peru, Colorado, Brisbane, Copenhagen and Shanghai! One of the visitors even commented how much our Main Street reminded them of a recent visit to Budapest.
The Bayfield Historical Society has worked diligently over the decades to keep our village authentic. That is why it is so vital to continue to fund the Society. History matters to locals and visitors.
Our village is a little treasure, a great place to live and to keep it vibrant, we need to ensure tourists and local dollars keep flowing.
